Te Paki, located at the top of New Zealand, was once a separate island but over many years, sand built up from volcanic activity which created giant sand dunes. Shells can be found at the top of the Dunes where it appears water once existed. Te Paki is a popular tourist spot with stunning views from the top & you can hire a board for $15 to do some sandboarding. There are clean public toilets & it is also the exit point for 90 mile beach bus tours.
